To Exemplify Positive Values
As a youth football coach, you have an incredible opportunity to be the living example of positive attitudes, habits and deeds; the values that most consider synonymous with being a man.
Through both word and deed, a coach can exemplify important traits: integrity, personal discipline, commitment, humility, faith, a belief in the value of effort, selflessness in service to others, sacrifice and character just to name a few. These are the very same values we espouse at home as parents. These are the same values we expect from our leaders within the community.
A coach that can exemplify these values, and is capable of modeling and incorporating these important lessons into the rubric of teaching the xs and os of the game will be building something much more substantial and lasting than just a football team.
A coach that can establish and uphold high standards of personal conduct - for himself and his players - will help to reinforce these important values. This is a message can resonate a lifetime, not just one season.
